She is passionate about service learning and co leads the Global and local advocacy service in her school. In GALA, they intend on raising awareness on current issues in our world. Along with leading this service, she also teaches children at the Tiisetso community projects located in Diepsloot. It is a non-profit organization that helps a community of 6000 people by providing food and different services such as helping students with their homework. Her service journey has been greatly influenced by her father who has always encouraged her to do what she can to make even the smallest difference in the world.

In October 2022, Ipyana had the privilege to join the Say No to GBV initiative run by Shanzeh Haider. Throughout the previous years, she was able to see how passionate Shanzeh Haider is about this campaign and the difference she was able to make in people's lives. After learning more about GBV she joined the service and was able to attend the AISA GISS conference with Shanzeh in February of 2023. She can't wait to see how this initiative impacts peoples lives as it spreads around the world.
