ACCRA, GHANA

We started a ‘Say No to GBV’ club in our school as an extracurricular activity to raise awareness of GBV in Ghana and all around the world. We are raising awareness of GBV by creating one presentation per week that discusses various contributing factors to GBV/ related topics.

As a club, we expressed our creativity by decorating cookies with brown and pale orange icing as a means to raise awareness of GBV by writing little messages like “NO GBV” or “STOP”. We then went around the school giving these cookies to staff as a way for them to join the movement of fighting against GBV.

SAY NO TO GENDER-BASED VIOLENCE GHANA: INITIATIVES

We used orange and white beads with letters to make bracelets that read a small message in relation to GBV, like “SAY NO” or “NO GBV”. This activity made it possible for us to be creative but most importantly, simultaneously allow us to raise awareness of GBV in a different way.
